A Brief Jason Taylor Update

Jason Taylor just stopped to update the remaining media members on his current situation, after Coach Zorn mentioned the likelihood of a Monday procedure on his calf. Here is just about the full text of his quote before departing.

To be honest, I don’t even know what the gameplan is right now. I’m going to the hospital now to find out what we’re going to do, and the only thing I’m focused on right now is hopefully playing in the game on Sunday and trying to help this team beat the Lions. The rest of that stuff doesn’t really matter right now.

There’s been a slight change, and that’s part of the reason we’re [discussing this]. I really don’t know any details, so I can’t give you any details. Like I said, I’m going to go see the doctor at the hospital now, and try to beat the Lions on Sunday.

  1. If they need to reopen the calf, do it now. Sit him against Detroit and have him in the lineup against Pittsburgh, or better yet rest him through the bye week.
    100% Evans > 60-70% Taylor
    100% Wilson > 60-70% Taylor
Dare I even say it would nice to see what Erasmus can do?
The error in the above logic is that the Detroit game is much more important in terms of playoff implications than Pittsburgh, so perhaps they want all hands for this weeks game.

  2. Agreed. Get him healthy. If he can play vs. Detroit will without ANY setback, then fine. If there’s any possibility of a setback, then sit him and have him ready for Pittsburgh. We need him for the end of the season.

  3. Praying for JT’s full healing! It’s bad enough having plantar fasciitis (I have it too)!

    Get Well Soon, JT!

  4. Bruce Smith v2.0

  5. taylor has more left than bruce smith did as a skin

  6. Know this injury is tough/fristrating for JT… he has such desire to play and win with this team. He deserves huge kudos for coming back so soon. JT just take care of you now, then you can come back with that calf healed.

  7. Comparing Taylor to the Smith we had here is ridiculous. Taylor is an asset to the team, not just looking out for himself.

  8. This just stinks for Jason, because he wants to be out there. Its not his fault he got hurt. He loves to play, and wants to help this team, but cant. Hopefully they can get this straighted out.
