A New Punter?

On his radio show “The Red Zone” on ESPN 980, Vinny Cerrato just said that the team would be working out two or three punters this week, and “somebody else will be punting Sunday.” In response to a question from co-host Frank Hanrahan about if Durant Brooks had been cut, Cerrato said “No, he hasn’t been cut yet,” but reiterated that somebody else would be punting. More details once I’ve got them.

  1. good

  2. Somewhere in Green Bay, Derek Frost is smiling his arse off. Vinny was way too stubborn here. I was at the game yesterday and Brooks was horrible. Then again, so was everything else including the 2.5 hours it took to get out of the parking lot. I’ve attended my last game of the season, I’m done w/ Fed Ex Field, I’ll be selling my tickets and watching on TV.

  3. Finally. Whatever his issue has been with switching to the pros he needs to figure it out and get over it or he won’t have much of a career.

  4. People couldn’t wait for this to happen. I personally am sad to see the kid go but I understand.

The only thing I wonder about is the adjustment time it may take for a new punter to feel comfortable.

  5. Sucks it didn’t work out for the kid but damn I could punt 35 yards.

  6. Is wristwatch-sporting Reggie Roby available?

  7. Now if we could only find a punter that can kick off too! Shazam killed us yesterday too.

  8. I believe Reggie Roby tragically died of a heart attack 3 years ago.

  9. kapinos should be the next punter. Look for him to do well in the try out.
