Monday Redskins Links – 9/29

  • Homer McFanboy posts his traditional postgame wrap-up in the form of a playlist. I’m not a huge fan of all of his song choices, but his game review is sound, and he gets in a good line about the hole in the stadium roof:

Since 1971, Cowboys fans have said that the hole in the roof of Texas Stadium was designed so that God, himself, could watch his favorite team on Sundays. Well, if that’s the case, then the big guy had to be pleased watching two of his biggest fans, receivers James Thrash and Antwaan Randle El, each catch a touchdown in the Redskins’ win.

    Indeed.

  • Sunday’s Dallas Morning News featured an entertaining (if brief) article about the odd, amusing friendship-slash-rivalry between Daniel Snyder and Jerry Jones, and Dan Steinberg watches FOX’s TV cameras capture Snyder’s enthusiasm after the Dallas win. The two combine to paint a different picture of the team owner than what we usually see.
  • And some sort of incomprehensibly math-heavy NFL Ratings by Jeff Sagarin at USA Today declare that the Redskins are the number one team in the NFL at this moment. Sometimes — very infrequently — I love math, and this is one of those times.

  1. #1? Hmm… that seems a bit of a stretch. Though I understand how the schedule has boosted our position.

    I’ll definitely buy #4 though.

  2. There is a hole in Cowboys stadium so that God can watch his favorite team play. He just faces DC while taking a dump.

  3. JC beat the Cowgirls I knew he would do it JC is the future QB I belive in him and we look like a playoff team keep it up team. GO REDSKINS. SUPERBOWL.

  4. As a Skins fan I’m NOT happy that they’re being called a top 5 team. Being the underdog (and getting points when I bet on them) was something I grew to enjoy. Hope the new-found media love doesn’t distract them.

  5. all i know is portis’ pockets are striaght bro!! lol

  6. I am so glad that I am not the only one that thinks the anti-skins sentiment is repugnant to say the least. I think ESPN is probably the greatest contributor to this. Every year they rank the skins low and every year they have some sexy pick (ala Vikings, Browns take your pick) that has never done anything, winning the superbowl. Is anyone, that follows this team, suprised? Playoffs the last 2 of 3 years, a top 10 d for 5 years, and the way their bench carried them last year (proves they are as deep as anyone). Maybe, I am a Homer but really now. 10 wins does seem very likely this year.
